Lace The Hands is a self-taught musician, songwriter, producer, and R&B artist hailing from South Carolina. Lace is an R&B artist, vocalist, musician, and producer known for blending emotion, storytelling, and genre-defying soundscapes. Growing up with a deep love for the music of her era after being born in the early ’90s, she creates R&B music because she believes that the world itself is a rhythm with a story to tell—whether calm, upbeat, or in a blues state of mind.
What sets Lace The Hands apart is her creativity, style, along with the way she seamlessly fuses R&B, Jazz, Indie Pop, and Indie Rock into her music. As a vocalist, musician, and producer, she crafts a distinctive sound that bridges multiple genres while remaining rooted in authentic expression and soulful storytelling.
Growing up in Florence, SC always made Lace feel unseen. Unseen to the eyes of the world and the people of importance within it that make dreams come true. Life was great being a young female drummer knowing that there weren’t any others within the state at the time, so she gained fast popularity over time as a drummer. I went through a ton of character development being that I was always the only girl playing drums amongst nothing but boys, so I always had the focused mentality while having femininity in everything that she did. That set me apart from so many other girls in different states because of the rarity of seeing many playing what was considered “masculine instruments”. Music was her answer to the phrase “you can’t” and the word “potential”.
She attended elementary, middle, and high school in Florence, which then led her to South Carolina State University, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Music Industry. Lace served for seven years in the education field as a music teacher amongst several other job titles, while working with her high school alma mater as the marching band percussion instructor. Lace has also shared the big screen with several celebrities of the industry on major projects such as Drumline: A New Beat, BET's: The Quad, Marvels: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and J. Cole's "Middle Child" music video. She currently works in the music field amongst many great legends.
